I am currently in the process of educating my peers, family, and loved ones about the societal expectations of women and the close relation they both share. I have been "closed" to the public for fear of my being bald will negatively impact my loved ones. However, your story has caused me to revisit myself. So, I started describing to my family and friends how it felt to lose my hair, how it impacted me during my childhood to adulthood stages of life, and how society views hair (i.e. full hair, balding, and bald). I believe my courage has become even stronger as I read your story. Thanks for your openness to share. You are such an inspiration to me. I teach Cosmetology at a technology center in an inner city location. I have guys and gals in the 11th and 12th grade. As a part of our training we are to teach and learn about Properties of the Hair and Scalp. As a part of the curriculum I included your video. If I said there was a dry eye in the theory classroom when the video ended, I would be telling an untruth. You are so blessed to able to tell your story with such GRACE and LOVE.
