My mother was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis when she was 48. I was 8 and watched her live a life of pain that made me fearful for myself. I was told by her doctor that it is hereditary so naturally there was fear. After watching Project Liberation I had a new bank of knowledge about autoimmune diseases in general that helped me to address my fears. I realized how crucial education is. I have since continued to do more research on the topic and gained new insight to the value of my person with or without disease. Sandra makes me want to go bald to be like all the other beautiful bald people in the world. Thank you Sandra for being a “Phenomenal Woman”

Thank you so much for making this video. I have been dealing with this condition for a very long time and I never felt like anybody could really understand what I have been going through. My family and friends do their best to show me empathy, but you can never understand the emotional pain that comes with this condition unless you actually experience it. I felt like you were talking directly to me. Everything you talked about in this video is my story. I was never a person who wore “wigs or weaves” either so when I had to start wearing a wig, it was very difficult for me. I have been inspired by you and this video and hopefully I will move to a place of fully accepting this condition. I watched this video for the first time by myself and I laughed and cried. Then I watched it with my mother and my sister and we laughed and cried together too. I think this video gives people a better understanding of this condition. You are a beautiful and talented sista and I cannot say thank you enough for what you have done for me by making this video.

I am writing to you because I was inspired by your video on you tube which lead me to your website. I want to say that you are an inspiration to women with Alopecia. I am 32 and have had Alopecia since I was 12. Yes – like you I am totally bald but have never exposed my head outside of my house. Your professional pictures were inspiring. Even if I do not go outside bald, I would like to at least to do a photo shoot hence some sort of liberation. Finally I want to say that the wigs you are featured wearing are really nice.
